Despite the difficult weather conditions of late, Minginish Hall in north west Skye was filled with colour last Saturday, as the Skye Gardening Society held their annual spring flower show.

The committee were delighted at the turnout with 63 entries in various categories, including an encouraging number in the children’s section. The Primrose Trophy was won jointly by Jacquie Wathen and Joyce Heggie, who shared the top number of points across all entries. Jacquie also won the prize for the outstanding exhibit with her entry of spring flowers using a lovely selection of daffodils from her garden at Talisker that had survived the recent storm damage.
