A man’s body has today (Friday) been found at Camasluinie near Dornie in Lochalsh, Police have confirmed.
The family of Roger Fletcher, who has been missing in the area since 5th June, has been informed. Formal identification will now take place and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
In recent weeks RAF helicopter crew and members of the Kintail and Skye mountain rescue teams have been scaling the Kintail and Dornie areas, along with police and dog teams in the hunt for the missing 77-year old.
Mr Fletcher was last seen at 8.30am on Sunday 5th June setting off from a holiday house in Bundalloch, Dornie.
He was believed to have been planning a walk in the Bundalloch and Camusluinie area but did not arrive at his collection point.
The body was located by Police Scotland Dog Unit.
Police say further information will be issued once identification has taken place.
