The upcoming Lochcarron Highland Games have received a boost with a £700 donation from Scottish Sea Farms.
Held at Attadale, the games attract visitors from across the country and the donation will help to provide food to keep bellies full throughout the day, allowing all the profits from the catering tent to go on to future projects. The donation came as part of Scottish Sea Farms Heart of the Community fund.
Lochcarron Highland Games Association committee member Siobhan Murray said: “This sponsorship is really important to us as the costs of putting on a good event increase every year. The entire event is run by willing volunteers and every penny raised is ploughed back into the local community. The more we raise, the more the local community benefits. In the past four years over £12,000 has been given back to projects as varied as the shinty team, the village hall, the playgroup, the primary school and the Youth Maritime Trust, all of which effectively benefit many local residents.”
This year’s Lochcarron Games take place on Saturday 16th July.
