Skye man Ally K MacPherson set off from Portree on his 120-mile charity run in aid of the Maggie’s centre in Inverness just after midnight on Wednesday.
Ally is seeking to run the 120 miles from Portree to the centre in under 35 hours and has so far raised around £10,000.
In 2014, Ally completed an 125-mile run around Skye in 34 hours and 28 minutes, raising over £32,000 for Cancer Research.
He said: “In 2016 I have decided to raise funds for Maggie’s Highlands. Maggie’s provide free support services to those diagnosed with cancer. With one in three people now likely to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime the work they are doing is very important. It should be quite the challenge!”
