Dates for the Skye Live 2016 music festival have just been announced.
The unique two-day music festival will take place ahead of the May Day bank holiday, next April.
Following the sell-out success of the 2015 event, Skye Live 2016 promises to be bigger and better; with two stages and more exciting and high-profile artists expected on the line-up.
Over twenty music acts will perform on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th April and news about the line-up, ticketing announcements and a new location will soon be released.
Across the two-day event dance and electronica will be interspersed with contemporary and traditional Scottish performers.
Last year’s event was hugely popular and oversubscribed, so while 2016 capacity will almost double to three thousand, organisers are urging would be festival-goers who want to secure a place, to buy tickets and book accommodation early.
Event organizer Niall Munro said: “Last year was incredible, we had such a great response from the audience and the local community which we are going to build on and give visitors and islanders an even better experience.”
Skye Live is the brainchild of Skye based businessman and DJ Ali MacIsaac (aka McFly) and DJ and club promoter Niall Munro (aka Munroso) – son of Runrig front man Donnie.
Having been involved with the Skye Music Festival, Ali wanted to fill the gap it left since the last event held in 2007 at Ashaig airstrip.
