Clann Thròndairnis won top prize in Monday’s folk group competition for under 13 year olds at the Mòd in Oban.
The youngsters from Kilmuir and Staffin on Skye also won the prize at last year’s Mòd in Inverness. The win was part of an excellent day for the north Skye youngsters as they also won the Action Song and Waulking Song competitions. For the seventh year running the Highland Council sponsored the folk group competition in partnership with Fujitsu who provided a £500 prize voucher for the winning group.
The youngsters were presented with their folk group prize by Kate Dunbar, Programme Manager with Fujitsu and Skye Councillor Hamish Fraser, who is chair of Highland Council’s Gaelic Implementation Group.
