Charity box theft at Skye medical centre

A heartless thief has stolen a donation box from the Sleat Medical Practice on Skye.

The theft took place at some point between 9am on Tuesday 14th and 9am on Wednesday 15th July.

The box stolen was there to help raise money for emergency equipment, such as a defibrillator, for the Sleat community.

The medical centre theft comes weeks after a charity box was stolen from Armadale Pier.

Local inspector Lynda Allan urged anyone who may be able to shed any light on the theft to contact police on 101, and asked for vigilance to prevent a repeat.

She said: “We are appealing for any witnesses, but in what is maybe a sad reflection on society, we would also appeal to other premises that they make sure donation boxes are well secured.”
