Danny MacAskill nominated for prestigious sports award

Skye trials cyclist Danny MacAskill is set to rub shoulders with sporting stars including Nocak Djokovic and Cristiano Ronaldo after being nominated for a Laureus sports award.

This is the second time Danny has been short-listed for the Laureus award

Danny, from Dunvegan, has been short-listed in the action sports category for his bike tricks, which have been seen by millions of people around the world. He was previously shortlisted for the same award in 2011. The 29-year-olds latest stunt saw him return to Skye to ride the Cuillin Ridge last year, with the subsequent film “The Ridge” being viewed 10 million times in the first five days alone.
