Kyle woman’s danceathon for Comic Relief

A Kyle woman is preparing to dance her socks off for Comic Relief, with a nine-hour danceathon.

Charlene Maguire, who works at the Lochalsh Leisure Centre, will undertake the challenge on Friday 13th March – Red Nose Day – at locations across Skye and Lochalsh.

She will start at 9.30am with a 45-minute dance session in Kyle Hall for pupils at the Kyle and Kyleakin primaries and nurseries, and possibly pupils from Plockton too. Charlene will then visit Loch Duich and Auchtertyre schools, and hopes to cross the Skye Bridge for a visit to Broadford Primary as well.

The danceathon will come to an end at 6.30pm with an open session in Kyle Hall for anyone who wants to join in the fun.

Charlene said: “I plan to dance as much as I can between 9.30am and 6.30pm and to fill in the gaps by stopping in some other places and doing a couple of dances with anyone that will have me. And of course I will be collecting donations along the way. Seems like a good idea just now — fingers crossed that I last the day!”
