Full line-up for new Skye Live music festival revealed

The full line-up for Skye Live, a new two-day festival to be staged in Portree this Easter, has now been revealed.

A total of ten acts will perform at ‘The Lump’ — the traditional home of the Isle of Skye Highland Games — on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th April. Friday’s line-up is: Felix Martin of Hot Chip, Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston, Jasper James, Ali McFly, Munroso and Ali MacLennan. On Saturday it is the turn of the Peatbog Faeries, Donnie Munro, Shooglenifty, Nitework, Fat Suit, Amy Baillie, Sinks Ships, Doc Livingstone, Brendan Martin and Skyefall. In addition an afterparty on Saturday with Optimo will bring the event to a close.

Skye Live is the brainchild of local promoters and DJs Niall Munro and Ali MacIsaac, who are hoping to go some way to fill the void for local festival-goers since the last Isle of Skye Music Festival was held at Ashaig in 2007. It is hoped to attract between 800 and 1,000 people to the festival with both day and weekend tickets available. Tickets are due to go on sale this week.
