An eye-catching and informative new website aimed at parents and parents-to-be has been launched by NHS Western Isles.

The ParentingWI site offers a wide range of useful and topical information. This includes information and support from the early stages of pregnancy, to the birthing process, babyhood, toddlerhood, childhood and beyond.

Additional benefits, say the health board, include local health-related news and information on local parenting groups, as well as access to local and national support networks. This includes the Healthy Start scheme, which helps families obtain free vouchers every week which they can then swap for milk, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables and infant formula milk. Free vitamins are also available through the scheme.

The site also contains information and links to the local health visiting team and maternity services, contact details for GP surgeries and local hospitals, and additional local agency links.
