Three due in court after incidents on Skye

Three men are expected to appear in Portree Sheriff Court today (Monday) after a series of incidents on Skye over the weekend.

Following the theft of a vehicle from the Clobsha Nan Cuaridhean area of Broadford and a subsequent crash near Kyleakin in the early hours of Sunday morning a 27-year-old male from the Glasgow area has been charged with road traffic offences and crimes of dishonesty. As a result of investigations a number of items of stolen property have been successfully returned to their rightful owners.

Also on Saturday, a 40-year-old man from Glasgow was reported for road traffic and disorder offences in the Staffin area during which a female police officer sustained minor injuries, and a 39 year-old man from Sweden was reported for a road traffic offence following a collision that occurred near Druim Na Cloich which resulted in two people being taken to hospital for treatment.
