A young holidaymaker to Skye has expressed her thanks to the person who handed in the pocket money she lost in Portree.

Five-year-old Mairi MacGregor from Bridge of Earn was holidaying at the family home in Glendale at Easter when she lost £5 in the Co-op in Portree but was delighted when her “hard earned” pocket money was handed in. Her mum, Christina, got in touch with the Free Press to say thank you for the honesty, commenting: “You made a devastated little girl very happy!” She added: “I was also delighted to hear Gaelic being spoken by staff in the Co-op in Broadford and also at the Crofting Museum in Kilmuir.”
