Co-op lorry blown off road south of Portree

A Co-op driver had a lucky escape this week when he suffered minor injuries after his lorry was blown off the A87 between Broadford and Portree.

The accident happened on Tuesday morning at Druim nan Cleochd. It is understood that the driver made his way to hospital in Broadford.

Storm Henry cut power and caused transport chaos across the Highlands and Islands from Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning, with gusts up to 90 mph in some exposed places.
