Theft at Kyle public toilets

Police are appealing for information following a theft from the public toilets in Kyle.

Money was stolen from the coin boxes in the shower block of the toilets, which are run by the Kyle and Lochalsh Community Trust.

The boxes were secured with combination lock padlocks, but these were also stolen.

The theft took place at some time over a three-week period between 1st and 21st November.

Kyle and Lochalsh Community Trust chairman Brian Easter said: “It is extremely sad and disappointing that our community-owned facility has been targeted by thieves.

“At the moment the Police are conducting enquiries and I would urge anyone who has any information which could help with the investigation to get in touch with them.”

Local inspector Lynda Allan added: “This is obviously a community run toilet and such thefts have a big impact on such small communities. Enquiries are ongoing,”
