The Ministry of Defence have postponed the public meeting due to take place tonight (Thursday) to discuss the proposed expansion of the torpedo testing range between Raasay and the mainland.

Due to the storm front due to hit the west coast tonight, the meeting will now be held tomorrow (Friday 13th November) from 10am in Kyleakin Hall.

A spokeswoman for the MoD said: “Due to a Met Office amber warning covering the time of tonight’s meeting and the possible closure of the Skye Bridge, the decision has been made to reschedule the meeting for Friday 13th November at 10am.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but the safety of the public must be taken into consideration.”
