Skyeman wins prestigious Royal Television Society award for second year running

A former Portree High School pupil has scooped a prestigious Royal Television Society student award for the second year running.

Ally Lockhart (30), who graduated from the City of Glasgow College with a BA (Hons) Television degree last year, was delighted when the pilot he created for a new comedy sitcom triumphed in the entertainment category at the awards. His show, ‘Martial Kombat’, is an ambitious comedy-sitcom set 3,000 years ago.

The aspiring scriptwriter won the same award last year with his short film, ‘Suckerpunch’.

He said: “I hope that having these accolades to my name will help me succeed in my chosen career. I’ve always wanted to work as a comedy writer as I love the genre and the idea of having the freedom to work on a number of different projects.”
