Lochcarron’s Howard Doris Centre hosted its annual art exhibition last week.
This year’s exhibition focused on the work of the clients who attend the day centre, centre staff and local artist Cindie Reiter from the Little Fish Studio. Cindie runs a weekly arts and crafts group at the Howard Doris Centre and clients have been enjoying making books from scraps of card and paper which will be filled with memories.
In addition, the group are currently working on their creative programme for the coming year. The three-day exhibition opened last Monday with a stovies and wine night to thank the many volunteers, professionals and members of the community who have supported the service over the last year.
Howard Doris Centre manager Sally Ross said: “This is an annual event that we hold to show our gratitude to all those generous people who contribute so much and help us to continue to provide a quality service. “What is so special about this year is the level of input from the clients. They have worked hard to bring this exhibition together and everyone has been so impressed with the creative talent that has been discovered.” Mina Stewart, a client at the day centre, added: “Most of the work on display had been created over a period of many years and was much appreciated and admired by those who attended.”
