A 31-year-old man who was last seen near Dornie earlier this month was found dead in the Carr Brae area last week.
Originally from Dingwall, Greg Watson — who knew people in the Dornie area — was reported to be looking for Pictish stones when he fell from a cliff. His body was discovered last Thursday, seven days after he was last seen.
A spokesman for Police Scotland told the Free Press: “Mr Watson was in the Dornie area sleeping outdoors in the woods at the top of a cliff. He wasn’t camping in the traditional sense (i.e. tent and camping equipment) but instead created his own shelter.
“He was found by three members of the public who were searching in an area near Eilean Donan Castle following the appeal issued by the police. There are no suspicious circumstances at this time.”
A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
