Plockton cruise helps to raise £950 for charity

A Marie Curie fundraising cruise from Plockton last Friday has raised over £950 for the charity.

The event on Calum MacKenzie’s ‘Sula Mhor’ took passengers on an evening cruise down to Loch Kishorn, spotting seals along the way and enjoying supper bags courtesy of Kinloch Lodge Hotel on Skye. The skipper also gave a memorable rendition of the ‘Kishorn Commandoes’.

Lady Claire and Lord Godfrey Macdonald of Kinloch are joint chairs of the Marie Curie Skye and Lochalsh Fundraising Group and attended the cruise, thanking Mr MacKenzie and all those present for their support of the event. A total of £957.15 was raised, equivalent to 48 hours of specialist Marie Curie nursing care for terminally-ill people.
