Police are looking for a peat thief on Skye.
Some time between the 17th and 31st of May 15 bags of peat were stolen from Uiginish common grazing in Dunvegan. Police say they are now actively encouraging the public to keep any peat supplies secure and out of sight where possible.
Local acting Inspector Paul Moxon said: “Someone has spent a long time cutting, stacking and getting the peat into bags — and that hard work has been taken advantage of. We’d urge anyone cutting peat to be aware as it’s not something that they would expect to happen.”
Anybody with information on the theft should contact Police on 101.
