The Lochlash Junior Pipe Band performed in Kyle last week, welcoming visitors off the ‘Waverley’ paddle steamer as she makes her annual tour of the north-west.
Among the youngsters playing were six development members who made the move up to the full band for the first time. They were Ruaridh Young, Finn MacPherson, Cameron Godfrey, Ciaran Kellett, Eosaph Caimbeul and Andrew Coghill.
The pipe band played on Wednesday and Thursday evenings last week to mark both the arrival and departure of the ‘Waverley’ and were delighted to raise £292.54 for band funds from collection buckets.
Next Monday (9th June) the Lochalsh Junior Pipe Band will be playing in the Plockton car park from around 6.15pm and on Wednesday 18th June will hold a concert in Dornie Hall at 7pm. Tickets can be purchased on the door. They will also perform in Mallaig on Saturday 21st June and at the Green in Kyleakin on Monday 23rd June from approximately 6.15pm.
