Around two thousand people attended last weekend’s annual Clan Donald spring garden and craft fair, held in Sleat on Skye.
With the added bonus of good weather, the event attracted just under a thousand visitors per day — both local families and holidaymakers visiting the island.
The child-orientated activities proved to be a real success, with face painting, pony rides and a bouncy castle on offer, while Armadale Activities offered taster sessions. A wide range of crafts, plants and bakery goodies were on offer and a Pimms Bar and barbeque offered refreshments to revive worn-out shoppers.
Sunday saw the arrival of the Skye terriers and the “fun dog show” which proved to be a great success, even if not all the dogs were quite up to the challenge of the agility course.
Fair organiser Mags MacDonald said: “I really love planning this event because we always have so many old friends coming and making a family day out of it. It’s always great to see the gardens being enjoyed to their full potential.”
