This week saw the end of an era for an Ullapool butcher who has been making deliveries down the west coast for 36 years.
David Gordon from Food for Thought first started sending a mobile shop to the Lochalsh area when he was based in Dingwall and carried it on when he started the Ullapool shop 24 years ago.
His weekly run sees him visit Achnasheen, Strathcarron, Kyle, Dornie, Inverinate, Ratagan and Letterfearn, before a stop in Lochcarron on the way back to Ullapool. He has now been forced to stop due to health reasons and completed his final trip on Tuesday.
Mr Gordon said: “It’s a way of life to me now but everything must come to an end. I never missed a day – we always made it somehow.
“I still have original customers from when we started — they are friends rather than customers — but I have to take it easier. My back’s knackered.”
