BBC Alba to debut Gaelic Katie Morag

The new Katie Morag TV series will make its Gaelic debut next week when it is screened on BBC Alba.

Produced by CBeebies, the show has been adapted from Mairi Hedderwick’s celebrated books and follows Katie Morag on her adventures around the fictional Isle of Struay. She is played by Cherry Campbell but her Gaelic voice will be provided by Maia Murray Pickering (10) from Lewis.

The ‘Ceitidh Mòrag’ series starts on BBC Alba at 5pm on Tuesday 7th January and will be aired every Tuesday thereafter. Margaret Cameron, channel editor at BBC Alba, said: “I’m sure Ceitidh Mòrag will prove a hit on BBC Alba just as it has on CBeebies.”
