Never mind a postcode — this Christmas card sent from Wales to Skye didn’t even have the recipients’ surname on it.
Ray Jones, wife Elizabeth and grand-daughter Jessica moved up from the village of Graigfechan to Portree in August.
“The Christmas card was sent by Greg and Lisa — we don’t know their surname — who were neighbours of ours when we lived in North Wales.
“They travel around the world quite a lot but use the house in North Wales as a base to come home to every once in a while. We hadn’t seen them for some considerable time and, not knowing where they were at the time, had not been able to give them our new address.”
Greg and Lisa knew their old neighbours had moved to Skye, and they hoped the Post Office would do the rest.
“I have to say well done to the Post Office for delivering this card,” said Ray, who is pictured above at his home in Budhmor with the man responsible for the final leg of the card’s journey — postman Sandy Sneddon.
