Positive coaching — an alternative to “win at all costs” approach

A total of 19 community sports leaders and “skill for work” pupils from Portree High School took part in the Positive Coaching Scotland young leaders training course run recently by active schools co-ordinators Sarah Ross, Daniel Steele and Jeremy Rossiter.

The  pupils are all currently involved in running activities within their school and local communities as part of the active schools programme.

High Life Highland, in partnership with Sportscotland, are supporting the roll-out of the positive coaching programme to clubs and groups throughout the Highlands. The programme aims to offer  a new approach to coaching — looking at practical alternatives to the “win at all costs” mentality.
