Making the Kyleakin connection

To celebrate its 15th year on the road, the Screen Machine teamed up with FilmG — the Gaelic short film competition — to show Gaelic films by local film-makers during last month’s tour of the Western Isles and Skye.

The films were shown prior to the evening’s main feature and last Thursday in Kyleakin it was the turn of ‘Na Gaisgich Acrach’ by local group Kyleakin Connections.

Kyleakin Connections works with people with learning and physical disabilities to encourage and support independent living and life skills. They filmed their annual trip to Inverness and edited it into a funny and entertaining film, and they were delighted to see it on the big screen.

Pictured with them are Floraidh Forrest, FilmG’s project manager, and Neil MacDonald, Screen Machine driver and projectionist.
