Broadford man climbs Kilimanjaro

A Broadford man has raised over £2,000 for local groups by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro – the highest peak in Africa.

Graham Eadie climbed the mountain, which stands at 19,341 feet above sea level, on 28th August, raising £2,010. This money is being shared by the Friends of the Mackinnon Memorial Hospital in Broadford and Sleat and Strath Football Club, who will put it towards development of their new pitch.

Mr Eadie — pictured presenting a cheque to Doreen Smith, secretary of the league of friends — would like to thank everyone who donated money, including his colleagues on the Ninian Southern Platform.
