Dunvegan and Edinbane primary schools enjoyed an action-packed day when the Kakatsitsi drummers from Ghana visited recently.
Everyone took part enthusiastically in drumming, dancing and singing workshops and thanked the group who visited for a fantastic experience — even though it was hard work!
As part of the Blas Festival schools and community programme, the Kakatsitsi drummers visited Portree High School then split in two so that some could go to Dunvegan Primary. They also performed at Aros the next day and ran workshops in drumming and dancing.
“Jeans for Genes” day was supported at Dunvegan Primary on the same day and £65 was raised when everyone donated money to wear denim instead of school uniform.
